4 Months, 17 Weeks, and 122 Days Left Until 2026 — Here’s How to Make Them Count

We’ve officially entered September, which means there are just 4 months, 17 weeks, and 122 days left in 2025. That’s plenty of time to make progress on your goals, refocus your energy, and create lasting memories before we step into 2026. Whether you’re chasing fitness wins, saving for the holidays, or soaking up Dallas events, September is the perfect reset.

🔑 Revisit the Resolutions You Pressed Pause On

Back in January, you might’ve set big resolutions. Maybe some got lost along the way (life happens!). This season is the perfect chance to pick them back up.

• Didn’t hit your fitness stride? Start small with a September challenge — 3 walks a week, 15 minutes of movement daily, or a new fall routine.

• Had financial goals? Revisit your budget and create a mini holiday savings plan. Even putting aside $25 a week adds up before Christmas.

• Wanted to read, write, or journal more? Grab our September Goal Journal Sample (cover, week 1, and day 1 pages) and make writing a 5-minute habit again.

💪 Fitness & Wellness Goals for the Fall

The heat is breaking, and Dallas is full of opportunities to move:

• Take a walk on the Katy Trail or around White Rock Lake in the cooler evenings.

• Make it a family thing: stroller walks, bike rides, or football tosses at the park.

• Turn concert nights or festivals into “step challenges” by parking farther away and walking as a group.

💰 Holiday Savings Start Now

With the holidays around the corner, now’s the time to plan your spending.

• Create a holiday sinking fund — a small envelope or account just for gifts and travel.

• Cut one expense a week (skip a drive-thru coffee or lunch) and add it to your fund.

• Use fall festivals, tailgates, or concerts as fun, low-cost motivation checkpoints.

🎶 Big Events Still Ahead in Dallas-Fort Worth

Dallas doesn’t slow down in the fall. Here are a few cultural and community events to mark your calendar:

• Riverfront Jazz Festival (Aug 29–31) → Celebrate Black music and culture with jazz, soul, R&B, and blues featuring artists like Anthony Hamilton, Tank and the Bangas, and Peabo Bryson.

• Afrobeats to the World (Sept 20–21 at Gilley’s Dallas) → A vibrant two-day festival celebrating Afrobeats and global Black music.

• Southern Soul Rising Stars Festival (Sept) → Dallas-based artists like Marcellus the Singer and FPJ bring Southern soul to Strauss Square.

• Issa Rae Live (Sept 22, Music Hall at Fair Park) → The star of Insecure shares insights from her new memoir.

• Uncle Charlie’s R&B Cookout Tour (Sept 28, Toyota Music Pavilion) → Charlie Wilson, Babyface, and more bring classic soul and R&B.

• ¡Mundo México! (Starting Sept 20, Dallas Arboretum) → A colorful celebration of Mexican culture with pumpkin houses and fall décor.

• State Fair of Texas (Sept 26–Oct 19, Fair Park) → The ultimate DFW fall tradition with food, rides, and live entertainment.

• Thrivent HBCU Classic (Nov 1, Paul Quinn College) → Basketball, tailgating, and cultural pride all in one.

💡 Goal Tip: Use these events as checkpoints. For example: “If I save $200 this month, I’ll reward myself with a ticket to the jazz fest.”

🏡 At-Home Goals That Still Matter

Not every goal has to happen out in the city. Make memories at home too:

• Plan a family board game night once a week.

• Host a movie marathon with friends.

• Use our free coloring pages (kids and adults) for downtime and stress relief.

• Try the Bucket Challenge with our Party & Tailgate Buckets — fill one with snacks, trivia cards, or crafts for the night.
